EDET 603 Design and Development Tools I
Activity 1
Image Creation:
I used Photoshop to modify the image. It was too large so I used the crop tool to remove as much of the image on each side as possible. I added a rectangle that would serve as a “frame” for the picture. The mode was changed to grayscale. The image layers had to be flattened before the mode could be changed. Then I verified that I wanted to discard color information. I used the image menu to resize it. The dimensions 252 x 390 were used to get the image size down to 96K.
Challenges Encountered:
I had to keep trying the various options until I figured out how to select the rectangle line color and fill. I did not want the fill of the rectangle to cover or be in front of the image. Likewise, I changed the color of the rectangle lines as well as the thickness to ensure that it had the effect of a frame around the picture. In addition, I made adjustments for the image size in Photoshop and the file size indicated on my thumb drive. The final file size is 29K.
New Learning:
I learned that Photoshop has a number of retouching tools and enhancement options such as the blur tool. There are also many tools that I have never used before. As a result, I need to use Photoshop a lot more in order to fully learn the software, as well as to maximize its benefits.
